Volleyball is a team sport that was invented right here in the United States. The sport is now centuries old, but many don’t realize it was invented by a physical director of the YMCA. As intended, this sport gained mass appeal to both boys and girls in schools, playgrounds, and sandy beaches across the country.
Wheeling has produced some of the top volleyball high school athletes over the years – but just because you didn’t earn a college scholarship doesn’t mean you can’t learn and be involved with our volleyball activities.

Gather up your friends and head to Highlands Sports Complex for some quality volleyball. Our six indoor volleyball courts are ready for every serve, pass, and block.
Our hardwood volleyball courts help improve the overall game – floating maple hardwood courts provide natural shock absorbing qualities and excellent traction for increased player safety. Even though we provide the safest experience with our hardwood courts – you might want to bring your kneepads if you plan to go all-in.
Diehard volleyball players know that the net makes a difference. We are able to adjust the standard net height depending on your league and regulation.
Are you coming as a fan? We make sure you never miss a single serve. With bleachers and seating spread across the entire fieldhouse and on the 2nd floor mezzanine, you will never have to worry about obstructed views.
There are no limits for who can use our fieldhouse. Highlands Sports Complex location is ideal for travelers and for West Virginia residents. Our sports facility is family-friendly and can keep the kids busy while the parents cheer on their star-athlete. The arcade, batting cages, indoor turf, outdoor field, and play climb are great ways for the siblings to play during or after the big game.

If you are new to volleyball or an active member of your school’s volleyball program, we will help you increase your skillset and give you a year-round location to play. Volleyball is a team sport that will have you moving and sweating. We have camps, leagues, and classes that will keep you busy.
Introduce your child to volleyball in a controlled environment, designed for fun and learning. We start with 5-year-olds and have programs developed to pre-teens (age 12). Focus on fundamentals or advanced techniques. We can help develop your next all-star.
Our volleyball development classes tend to be multiple-week courses with a selected day/time.
Our volleyball camps are designed to help increase your skills under the supervision of professional coaches and instructors. If you want your young athlete to test out volleyball, our camps are perfect for you. Boys and girls are welcome to join a camp to improve their game.
Volleyball camps are offered in sessions and separated by age and ability. Our camps have limited capacity and are offered on selective dates.
Let’s see how our superstars work as a team as they battle other teams in our competitive volleyball leagues. Volleyball is the ultimate test in teamwork, agility, and hand/eye coordination. You have been practicing – now it’s time to play.
Our facility is the perfect location to schedule your league and not have to worry about weather or places for parents to park. Our indoor courts, concessions, and seating make it a win-win for parents and children.
Highlands Sports Complex offers indoor Co-Ed adult volleyball leagues which is a competitive and fun way to stay active. Leagues are offered year-round and are open to full teams and individual players. Referees are provided – so you can focus on your game instead of making sure those other guys follow the rules.
Volleyball training is available for young athletes looking to take their game to the next level. Highlands Sports volleyball coaches offer private trainings for individuals or small groups.
